# Upscale and sharpen an image Use Enhance to sharpen an image or make it 2 or 4 times bigger for free, and Resize to crop or fit it. Source: https://infinall.ai/docs/image/upscale Last checked: 2026-10-26 ## What it is Enhance makes an image cleaner and, if you want, bigger. It sharpens the picture, reduces noise, and can double or quadruple its size. It works on the pixels you already have, so it does not invent new content. ## Who can use it Everyone. The app does not check your plan for Enhance, so Free and Pro get the same options. On a team, editing needs the Editor role or higher. ## Cost Free, no credits. Enhance shows a green **Free** pill, and nothing is held or charged. ## Where to find it Select an image on the canvas and choose **Edit** on it. In the toolbar named **Image editing tools**, choose **Enhance**. Crop and Fit are free. | Both | ## How to enhance or upscale an image 1. Select the image and choose **Edit**. 2. Choose **Enhance**. 3. Under **Output**, choose **Sharpen**, **2x upscale** or **4x upscale**. 4. Look at the line under it. It shows the old size and the new size, for example 1024 x 1024 to 2048 x 2048. 5. Choose the apply button. The new, sharper picture appears on the canvas next to the old one. ## How to resize an image for free 1. Select the image, choose **Edit**, then **Resize**. 2. Choose **Crop** to cut the picture to a new size, or **Fit** to keep the whole picture inside it. 3. Type a width in **Resize width** and a height in **Resize height**. 4. Choose **Apply**. The Free tag shows next to it. ## Options explained **Sharpen** keeps the size and cleans the detail. It is good for soft pictures. **2x upscale and 4x upscale** make the picture bigger and also sharpen it. They work best on small or low resolution images, such as an uploaded logo or a photo from a phone chat. **Size cap.** Enhance never makes the long side larger than 4,096 pixels. A big picture may be upscaled less than you asked for. The panel tells you when this happens. **AI Extend.** This is a different tool inside Resize. It adds new area around the picture with AI and uses credits. It is not an upscale. **New images.** New images come out at the fixed sizes in [sizes and aspect ratios](/docs/image/sizes-and-aspect-ratios). There is no 2K or 4K choice when you make one. Use Enhance afterwards to go bigger. ## Limits - The long side is capped at 4,096 pixels after Enhance. - Resize accepts a width and height from 64 to 4,096 pixels. ## When something goes wrong | Message in the app | What it means | What to do | | --- | --- | --- | | Capped at 4096 px on the long side. | The result would pass the size limit, so the upscale is smaller than you asked. | Nothing. Enhance has the same 2x and 4x choices on both plans, with the same size cap. The app does not gate it by plan. ### Does Enhance cost credits? No. It is free and it runs without calling the paid AI. ### Will Enhance add detail that is not there? No. It sharpens and removes noise from the pixels you have.
