What Is a Saved Audience in Ads? Meta and Other Platforms Explained
A saved audience is a reusable group of targeting settings, such as location, age, language and interests, that you store in an ad platform so you can apply the same targeting to multiple campaigns. It is defined by rules, not by a list of specific people.
In Meta Ads Manager, a saved audience lets you save a combination of demographics, interests and behaviours and reuse it, instead of rebuilding the targeting for each ad set. Other platforms offer similar saved targeting templates under different names. It saves setup time and keeps targeting consistent across tests, which matters when you want to change only the creative.
A saved audience is different from a custom audience, which is built from your own data, such as a customer list or website visitors captured by a pixel (see what-is-a-pixel-in-advertising). It is also different from a lookalike audience (see what-is-a-lookalike-audience), which the platform builds by finding people who resemble a source audience. A saved audience describes who to target by attributes; the other two start from people you already know about.
Platform targeting options change often, and some interest and demographic options have been restricted or removed over time, particularly for sensitive categories. Platforms also lean increasingly on automated targeting that widens delivery beyond the audience you specify. Check the current options in your ad account rather than relying on older guides, and judge a saved audience by results rather than by how precise it sounds.
Why it matters
Infinall AI turns a product URL into research, strategy, ad copy and creative that land in an Approval Queue for you to review before export. Its research can suggest who your offer is likely to appeal to and the angles to lead with, which can inform the saved audiences you set up. It does not create audiences in your ad account, connect to your ad platform, or manage live ad spend, so you build and apply the saved audience yourself. Because audience and creative are tested together, the exported ads from Infinall are one half of that test.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a saved audience and a custom audience?
A saved audience is a set of targeting rules, such as age, location and interests. A custom audience is built from specific people you already have data on, such as customers or site visitors. Custom audiences usually need a customer list or pixel data and have their own consent and privacy requirements.
Should I use narrow interest targeting or broad targeting?
There is no universal answer, and platforms have moved toward algorithmic delivery that often performs well with broader settings. Test a defined saved audience against a broader one with the same creative and compare cost per result in your own account. Let your results decide rather than a rule of thumb.
