Ad Image Compressor
Compress an ad image to Google Display's 150 KB limit, YouTube's 2 MB limit or your own target size.
Use Ad Image Compressor
Meeting the file size limit does not guarantee ad approval. Free, no sign-up. Runs in your browser; nothing you enter is uploaded.
How to use it
Set a size limit and compress your image to JPG, PNG or WebP, then check the result before downloading.
- Set a target: 150 KB for Google Display, 2,000 KB for YouTube, or a custom size.
- Choose your image and output format.
- Check the size and download; if still too large, try JPG or a smaller image.
How it works
Target bytes = KB × 1,000
Quality search: try 92, then 40, then halve the gap and keep the highest quality whose file is at or under the target
Saving = (original − new) ÷ original
Example
Jewellery label, Jaipur, India
A ₹1,25,000 Diwali campaign needs a smaller Google Display banner.
Questions
What is the Google Display size limit?
Google allows GIF, JPG and PNG files up to 150 KB. This tool targets 150,000 bytes or less.
Does 1 KB mean 1,000 or 1,024 bytes here?
1 KB is 1,000 bytes here, the stricter limit. At 150 KB, this leaves 3,600 fewer bytes than using 1,024 bytes per KB.
Why won't my PNG get smaller?
PNG is lossless and has no quality setting. Try JPG, WebP if your platform accepts it, or an image with fewer pixels.
Which quality does it pick?
For JPG and WebP, it tests quality settings from 92 down to 40 and keeps the highest tested setting that fits. The floor of 40 is an Infinall guideline, not a platform rule.
What limits do other platforms set?
Checked 26 Oct 2026: YouTube thumbnails 2 MB, X ad cards 3 MB, X post images 5 MB, LinkedIn single image ads 5 MB, Instagram via API 8 MB, Pinterest Pins 20 MB. Check the source for changes.
What do the simulated examples show?
Jaipur: a 300 × 1050 PNG at 412,000 bytes becomes a JPG at quality 85 and 148,750 bytes, 64% smaller, without resizing. Denver: a 3840 × 2160 JPG at 5,900,000 bytes becomes 1,990,656 bytes at quality 60, 66% smaller; it exceeds the 640 px minimum width.
