Limits are from Pinterest’s help pages (checked 26 Oct 2026); the 90% warning and line breaks counting 1 are our own choices. Free, no sign-up. Runs in your browser; nothing you enter is uploaded.

How to use it

Check your Pin title, description and text box against Pinterest’s limits. Feeds may show only the first 40 title characters, and never the description.

  1. Enter your Pin title and check what fits in the first 40 characters.
  2. Add the description and, if your Pin has one, the text box.
  3. Trim anything over a limit, then copy each field.

Questions

What is the character limit for a Pinterest Pin title?

100 characters. Pinterest’s product specs add that, depending on the device, only the first 40 may show in people’s feeds, so the start of the title has to make sense on its own.

Why do only 30 title characters show for some languages?

Pinterest says that for Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic and other double-byte languages only the first 30 characters show in feeds. One such character anywhere in the title switches the feed cut-off to 30 here.

How long can a Pinterest description be, and where does it show?

Up to 800 characters. Pinterest says descriptions do not appear when people view the Pin in the home feed or search feed, so don’t rely on the description to carry the product name or the price.

What is the 250-character text box?

Pinterest’s Review Pin specs page lists a text box count of 250 characters max for image and video Pins. The field is optional here: leave it empty if your Pin has no text box.

Do emoji and Hindi words count as one character?

Here every character you see counts 1: 🪔 is 1 and दिवाली is 3. Pinterest doesn’t publish how it counts emoji or Indic scripts, so keep a few characters spare when you are close to 100.
