How to use it
Find what each ad click cost on average. To compare campaigns or platforms, use spend and clicks from the same ads and dates. This is the average paid, not your bid.
- Pick your currency and enter your ad spend.
- Enter the clicks from the same ads and dates.
- Calculate, then copy your CPC to compare with another period.
Formula
CPC = ad spend ÷ clicks

Questions
How do you calculate CPC?
Divide ad spend by the clicks from the same ads and dates. For example, 126,400 spent on 4,860 clicks gives 26.01 per click. Only the shown result is rounded.
Is my CPC the same as my bid?
No. A bid is a setting in the ad platform. CPC is what you actually paid, averaged across all clicks. Single clicks can cost more or less.
Which click count should I use?
Use clicks for exactly the ads and dates behind the spend, and keep the click type the same. A CPC based on all clicks is not comparable with one based on link clicks.
Why is there no CPC when clicks are zero?
CPC divides spend by clicks, and you cannot divide by zero. If ads ran but nobody clicked, the spend is still real, but there is no cost per click.
How do CPC, CPM and CTR fit together?
For the same ads and dates, CPC = CPM ÷ (10 × CTR), with CTR as a percentage. A CPM of 180 and CTR of 1.5% give a CPC of 12.00.
Is a low CPC always good?
No. CPC measures click cost, not conversions or profit. There is no universal good CPC. The currency selector changes labels only; it does not convert amounts.
