Loading the tool…

A planning estimate of click spend only, based on your own assumptions, not a guarantee of sales. Free, no sign-up. Runs in your browser; nothing you enter is uploaded.

How to use it

Start from a revenue goal and see the orders, clicks and ad spend it takes at your AOV, conversion rate and CPC.

  1. Enter your target revenue and average order value for the same period.
  2. Enter your conversion rate as a percent and your expected cost per click.
  3. Read the budget, orders and clicks, then add fees and taxes separately.

Formula

Orders = target revenue ÷ AOV; clicks = orders × 100 ÷ conversion rate (%); ad budget = exact clicks × CPC

Counts round up; spend uses exact clicks

Example

Skincare brand, Pune

A skincare brand planning a month of ads toward a revenue goal.

Target revenue
$250,000
Average order value
$1,800
Conversion rate
1.5%
Cost per click
$9

Questions

How does this calculator get from revenue to budget?

Target revenue divided by AOV gives expected orders. Orders multiplied by 100 and divided by conversion rate (%) gives expected clicks. Exact clicks multiplied by CPC gives media spend. This assumes the same AOV, conversion rate and CPC across the campaign.

Why are orders and clicks rounded up but the budget is not?

Counts show the next whole number and include their exact planning average in a note. Budget uses unrounded clicks, so rounding never pads the plan. Buying whole clicks would add less than one click’s cost.

Which conversion rate should I use?

Use orders divided by clicks from the same kind of ads, multiplied by 100. Type 1.5 for 1.5%, not 0.015. A site-wide rate includes visitors who never clicked an ad and may not represent your paid traffic.

Does this budget include taxes or platform fees?

No. It covers clicks only. Add taxes, platform fees, agency fees, tools and creative costs separately before approving the plan.

Can I use this to plan a Google Ads budget?

Yes, for campaigns paid per click, including search ads. No platform prices are built in: enter CPC from your own account or keyword research. The calculation does not model bids, auctions or changing campaign performance.

What if the budget is bigger than target revenue?

At these assumptions each order costs more in clicks than it brings in: CPC × 100 ÷ conversion rate exceeds AOV. Review CPC, conversion rate and AOV. A larger budget alone cannot fix this relationship, and a budget below revenue still does not establish profit.
