How to use it
Turn a photo into a tall Story image. Fill and crop trims the edges; Fit inside keeps the whole image and adds background space.
- Choose a JPEG, PNG or WebP photo, or try an example.
- Keep the Story 9:16 preset, or edit the width and height.
- Pick Fill and crop and set the focus, or Fit inside to keep text near the edges.
- Check the preview, pick a format and download.
Example
Pune furniture brand — ₹1,25,000 sofa
A tall sofa photo already in the 9:16 shape, so Fill and crop keeps all of it.
Questions
Are these official Instagram Story dimensions?
No. 1080 × 1920 px is our editable starting point. Instagram’s Graph API reference (checked 26 October 2026) recommends 9:16 for Story images but does not establish an official pixel size.
Why does Fill and crop remove part of my photo?
A wide photo cannot fill a tall frame without losing some of its sides. A 4032 × 3024 px photo uses a 1701 × 3024 px crop in a 9:16 frame, keeping 42.1875% of its area. Moving the focus changes which part stays, not how much stays. Use Fit inside if nothing may be cut.
Can I keep a price or headline near the edge?
Yes. Choose Fit inside to keep the whole image. It adds background space instead of stretching the photo.
Which format should I download?
JPEG suits photos; PNG keeps transparency; WebP is also available. JPEG fills transparent areas with the selected background.
Will resizing improve a small or blurry image?
No. Enlarging adds pixels, not detail. Use a larger source photo when you can.
