Questions
How is conversion rate calculated?
Divide conversions by visitors, then multiply by 100. For example, 2,176 orders from 1,28,000 visitors is 1.7%. The US trial example gives 2.375%, displayed as 2.38%.
Why does my conversion rate show more than 100%?
One visitor can convert more than once: 903 orders from 860 visitors gives 105%. If your report counts only one conversion per visitor, check the dates, filters and counts.
Should I divide by visitors, sessions or clicks?
Use the base in your report. One visitor can have several sessions, so the counts differ. Dividing conversions by ad clicks gives click-to-conversion rate. Name the base when sharing results and keep it consistent when comparing periods.
What happens with 0 visitors or 0 conversions?
Visitors must be above 0. With 0 conversions and positive visitors, the rate is 0%. Positive rates below 0.01% display as < 0.01% rather than rounding to zero.
Is my conversion rate good?
There is no universal good rate: it depends on the offer, price, traffic and conversion goal. Compare matching periods. For tests, use the A/B Test Significance Calculator; a higher rate alone does not prove an improvement.
