How to Build a Brand Kit: 7 Steps, Examples and a Free Way

To build a brand kit, collect your logo files, colour codes, fonts and voice rules in one place, add who you sell to and a few approved examples, then share it with everyone who makes content. In Infinall AI you can build one for free: paste your website into Brand Brain, fix anything it got wrong, and confirm it so every tool uses it.

A brand kit is the short set of files and rules that keeps everything you publish looking and sounding like the same company. It usually holds your logo in a few versions, your colours with exact codes, your fonts, a description of your voice, and some examples of work done right. Founders build one so freelancers and agencies stop guessing. Marketers build one so ads, posts and emails match. The steps below work in any tool, from a shared folder and a one page document to a design app. After them you will see how to build a brand kit in Infinall AI, where it is saved once and used by every tool.

How to Build a Brand Kit: 7 Steps, Examples and a Free Way

  1. Collect every logo file you have

Find the original logo files from whoever designed them, not a copy saved from your website. Keep a full colour version, a one colour version, and a version that works on a dark background. Save each in a format that scales, plus a PNG with a transparent background for everyday use.

  2. Write down your colours with exact codes

List your main colour, one or two supporting colours and your neutrals such as the background and text colours. For each, record the code used on screens (HEX or RGB) so nobody picks a colour by eye. Add a short note on how each is used, for example which colour goes on buttons.

  3. Choose your fonts and how to use them

Name the font for headings and the font for body text, and the weights you actually use. Say where to get each font and what to use as a fallback when it is not available. Two fonts are enough for most brands.

  4. Describe your voice in plain words

Write three or four words that describe how you sound, such as friendly, direct and expert, and one line on what each means in practice. Add a short list of words and phrases you always use and ones you never use. A before and after rewrite of one sentence helps people more than a long description.

  5. Add who you sell to and what you sell

Write one paragraph on your main customer: who they are, what they need and what stops them buying. List your products or services with a one line description and the claims you are allowed to make. This is the part most brand kits skip, and it is what makes copy and ads sound specific.

  6. Gather approved examples

Pick a few pieces of work that show the brand done right, such as a social post, an ad, an email and a product photo. Examples answer questions that rules cannot, like how much space to leave around a logo or how busy a photo can be. Mark one or two things to avoid as well.

  7. Store it in one place and share it

Put everything in a single shared folder or document with a clear name and a date, and give every designer, writer and agency the same link. When something changes, update that one copy instead of sending new files around. Review it whenever your website or products change.

How to build a brand kit in Infinall AI

In Infinall AI, a brand kit is called a Brand Brain: a saved profile of your logo, colours, fonts, voice, products, pricing, customers and competitors. To make one, add a brand and paste your website address. Infinall AI reads up to 20 pages, up to 2 levels deep from your homepage, then asks only about the things it could not find. Check every section, edit anything that is wrong by hand, and confirm to save a version. You can also upload screenshots as JPEG, PNG or WebP files up to 10 MB.

Once a brand is confirmed, pick it with the brand chip in Image, Video, Motion, Audio or Chat, and Infinall AI uses your logo, colours, voice and claims in what it makes, so you do not describe your brand in every prompt. The brand is saved in your workspace, so teammates there see it too. When your website changes, refresh the brand and choose, field by field, whether to keep your current value or take the new one.

Common mistakes when building a brand kit

  • Only one logo file, usually a small PNG that looks blurry in print or disappears on dark backgrounds.
  • Colours described by name, like dark purple, instead of exact codes.
  • A voice section full of adjectives and no examples, so every writer reads it differently.
  • No audience or product section, which leaves ads and copy generic.
  • Several copies of the kit in different inboxes, so people use an old version.
  • Building it once and never updating it after a rebrand or a new product.

Free vs Pro for your Brand Brain

Brand Brain is on both plans and is not gated by plan. Analyzing a website, editing a brand and picking a brand in a tool never use credits. The tool you use with your brand charges its normal price and shows it before you confirm. The Free plan gives 1,000 credits every month with no card. Pro is $10 for the first month, then $30 a month or $299 a year (India: Rs 999 first month, then Rs 2,899 a month or Rs 33,999 a year), and adds video. Adding, editing and confirming a brand needs an Editor role or higher in the workspace; a Viewer can look but not change it.

Frequently asked questions

What should a brand kit include?

At minimum: logo files in a few versions, your colours with exact codes, your fonts, a short description of your voice, who you sell to, and a few examples of approved work.

How do I build a press kit instead?

A press kit is for journalists and partners, not your team. Include a short company story, a fact sheet, downloadable logos, high resolution product and team photos, and a press contact. You can reuse the logo files from your brand kit.

Can I create a brand kit for free?

Yes. A shared folder and a one page document cost nothing. In Infinall AI, building and editing a Brand Brain uses no credits on the Free or Pro plan.

Is a brand kit the same as brand guidelines?

They overlap. A brand kit is the practical set of files and short rules people use every day, while brand guidelines are often a longer document that explains the reasoning. Small teams usually only need the kit.

Can I use my existing brand guide document in Infinall AI?

Yes, in Infinall Chat you can make a chat project and add files such as brand guides and past campaigns, so every chat inside that project uses them. For images, video and motion, use a confirmed Brand Brain with the brand chip.
