Demand Gen is a Google Ads campaign type that shows your ads across Discover, Gmail, YouTube (including Shorts, the Home feed, Search results and Watch Next), Google Display Network websites and apps. Because one campaign reaches so many placements, Google asks for the same creative in several shapes, and it picks the shape that fits each spot. This guide lists the Demand Gen sizes and dimensions from the Google Ads Help page for images, videos and logos, explains which shapes matter most, and gives a short checklist for making files that upload on the first try.

Demand Gen Ad Specs: Image, Video and Logo Sizes for Google Ads
Pick your shapes
Plan at least a square 1:1 and a horizontal 1.91:1 image, then add vertical 4:5 and 9:16 versions if you want your ads to fit tall feeds and YouTube Shorts. Google recommends the 9:16 shape for Shorts, for both images and video.
Design at the recommended size, not the minimum
Work at 1200 x 1200 for square, 1200 x 628 for horizontal, 960 x 1200 for 4:5 and 1080 x 1920 for 9:16. The minimums (such as 300 x 300 or 600 x 314) are accepted, but a larger file stays sharp on big screens.
Keep text and logos inside the safe zone
Google says safe zones for 9:16 images are similar to 9:16 videos, so keep headlines, faces and the product away from the edges where YouTube Shorts puts its buttons and captions. Check the video ad safe zones on the Google page before you export.
Export in the right file type and weight
Save images as JPG or PNG under 5 MB and the logo as JPG or PNG under 150 KB. Export video as MPEG-2 or MPEG-4. Make every video at least 5 seconds long, and at least 10 seconds if you want it to run in YouTube In-stream.
Make the set faster with Infinall AI or a free resizer
In Infinall AI you can make one image from your saved brand, then use the free Resize tool (Crop or Fit, any width and height from 64 to 4096 pixels) to produce each Demand Gen size. If you only need fixed banner sizes, the free Google Display Ad Resizer turns one image into every display size and compresses each file for the 150 KB limit.
Where Demand Gen ads appear
Google lists these placements for Demand Gen creative: Discover Feed, Gmail, YouTube videos, YouTube Search Results, YouTube Watch Next, YouTube Home Feed, YouTube Shorts, Google Display Network websites and apps. Each placement favours a different shape. Feeds such as Discover and Gmail suit the horizontal 1.91:1 and square 1:1 images, while YouTube Shorts suits the vertical 9:16 shape. Giving Google every shape lets it serve the best fit in each place instead of cropping or skipping your ad.
Demand Gen image sizes in plain terms
There are 4 image shapes. Square 1:1 needs at least 300 x 300 pixels and Google recommends 1200 x 1200. Horizontal 1.91:1 needs at least 600 x 314, with 1200 x 628 recommended. Vertical 4:5 needs at least 480 x 600, with 960 x 1200 recommended. Vertical 9:16 needs at least 600 x 1067, with 1080 x 1920 recommended. Every image must be a JPG or PNG file no larger than 5 MB.
The logo is separate: a square 1:1 file of at least 144 x 144 pixels, 1200 x 1200 recommended, as JPG or PNG up to 150 KB. That file limit is much smaller than the image limit, so compress the logo before you upload it.
Demand Gen video dimensions and length
Video comes in the same family of shapes. Google gives recommended HD sizes of 1080 x 1080 for square 1:1, 1920 x 1080 for horizontal 16:9, 1080 x 1350 for vertical 4:5 and 1080 x 1920 for vertical 9:16. Files can be MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 and up to 256 GB. The minimum length is 5 seconds, and a video shorter than 10 seconds cannot serve on YouTube In-stream. If In-stream matters to you, plan a cut of 10 seconds or more.
Uploaded display ads inside Demand Gen
Demand Gen can also run finished banners. Google lists these common sizes: 300 x 250 (medium rectangle), 336 x 280 (large rectangle), 728 x 90 (leaderboard), 970 x 90 (large leaderboard), 160 x 600 (wide skyscraper), 300 x 600 (half-page) and 320 x 50 (mobile leaderboard). These files can be JPG, PNG or non-animated GIF, up to 150 KB each. For the full banner list, see our Google display ad sizes guide.
How Infinall AI helps, and what it does not do
Infinall AI makes images, motion videos, video (Pro) and ad copy from your saved brand, so your Demand Gen set keeps the same logo, colours and voice across every shape. New images come in fixed aspect ratios with no custom size, so use Resize (Crop or Fit) to hit an exact pixel size; Resize is free and uses no credits. Infinall AI does not buy media or build the Google Ads campaign for you: you upload the finished files in Google Ads yourself. The Free plan gives 1,000 credits every month with no card. Pro is $10 for the first month, then $30 a month or $299 a year.
