How to Make a Jingle for an Ad: Hook, Melody, Mix and Export

To make a jingle for an ad, decide the one feeling your brand should leave, write a short hook around the brand name, set it to a simple melody that repeats, then record or generate a few versions and keep the catchiest. In Infinall AI, Pro users choose Jingle in Audio mode, describe the idea and get a 15 second branded jingle on the canvas.

A jingle is a short piece of music, often with the brand name sung or played as a hook, that people link to your product. In an ad it does two jobs: it sets the mood in the first moments and it makes the brand easier to remember after the ad ends. You do not need to be a musician to make one. What matters is a clear idea, a melody short enough to hum, and a clean mix under your voiceover. This guide gives steps that work with any approach, from a hired composer to music software to an AI tool, then shows how to make and mix a jingle in Infinall AI.

How to Make a Jingle for an Ad: Hook, Melody, Mix and Export

  1. Pick one feeling and one job

Decide what the listener should feel: playful, warm, confident, calm or adventurous. Then decide where the jingle sits in the ad, for example as the opening hook, under the whole spot or as a sign off on the logo. One feeling and one job keep the music focused.

  2. Write the hook

Build a short line around your brand name or slogan, with only a few words. Say it out loud and tap the rhythm on a table; if it is hard to say, it will be hard to sing or remember. Rhymes and repeated sounds help a hook stick.

  3. Keep the melody simple and repeat it

Catchy, almost addictive songs use a few notes that move in small steps and come back more than once. Aim for a phrase a listener could hum after one hearing. End on a strong, resolved note so the jingle feels finished when the ad cuts to the logo.

  4. Choose instruments and tempo to match the mood

Bright instruments and a quick tempo feel playful and upbeat. To make a song sound adventurous, use bold brass or strings, driving drums and a melody that climbs. Soft piano or acoustic guitar at a slower pace feels warm and trustworthy.

  5. Make several versions

Record, compose or generate a few takes of the same idea and compare them back to back. Listen on a phone speaker as well as headphones, since many people will hear your ad that way. Keep the version people remember after one listen, not the one that sounds most complex.

  6. Mix it with the voiceover

If the ad has speech, the jingle must drop under the voice so every word is clear, then rise again at the end. Lining the hook up with the brand name or the call to action makes both stronger. Check the final ad with the sound on and with captions for people watching muted.

  7. Export for each platform and check the rights

Platforms change the loudness of uploads, so export a file at each platform's target level. Before you run a paid ad, confirm you have commercial rights to the music, whoever made it, and never copy a famous tune or another brand's jingle.

How to make a jingle in Infinall AI

  1. On Home, choose the Audio tab, or switch the composer to Audio on a project canvas.
  2. Open the mode chip and pick Jingle from the Music group. It is a Pro mode; on Free it shows a Pro badge.
  3. Pick your brand on the brand chip if you have saved one, so the jingle follows your brand's name and tone as mood guidance.
  4. In the Idea box, describe the jingle, for example "playful 3-note jingle, bright and short, ends on a confident final note".
  5. Send it. A player lands on the canvas, where you can press Play and Download.

The jingle comes out 15 seconds long, and the length is not a setting in the composer, so describe the shape you want in your words and trim it later if needed. To put it under a voiceover, make a voice take on the same canvas, choose Mix with music under it, pick the jingle as the background track and choose how much it drops: Light, Standard, Strong or Very strong. Then use Export to save a file for each platform.

Common mistakes

  • Too many words. A long, clever lyric is hard to sing and harder to remember. Cut the hook to the brand name and one idea.
  • A busy melody. Big jumps and many notes sound impressive once and are forgotten. Simple and repeated wins.
  • Mood that fights the product. An upbeat party jingle on a calm finance ad confuses people. Match the feeling you picked in step 1.
  • Music over the words. If the voice is hard to hear, the music is too loud. Drop it under the voice.
  • Changing the jingle every campaign. A jingle works through repetition, so reuse the same hook across ads.
  • Sounding like a famous song. Being close to a known tune or another brand's jingle can cause legal trouble.

Free vs Pro for jingles

On Free you get 1,000 credits every month with no card. You can plan the music with Music brief, make the voiceover, mix a voice over music and export, but the Jingle, Music track and Sound effect modes are Pro only. Music brief writes a plan, not sound, so on Free you can use it to brief a composer.

Pro costs $10 for the first month, then $30 a month or $299 a year, and gives 3,000 credits a month. A jingle is charged by its length: credits are held first, any unused part is returned, and each take's card shows what it cost. If a track fails, no credits are charged. One credit is one US cent. Generated audio can be used commercially by the account that made it.

When another approach is better

A professional composer or jingle studio is the better choice when the jingle will become a long-term brand asset, needs sung lyrics, or will run on TV and radio for years. Infinall AI cannot make a song with vocals yet: Song with vocals shows Soon. Music software is better if you or someone on your team plays and wants full control over every note. An AI jingle is a fast way to test ideas, make versions for many ads and hear a direction before you pay for a full production.

Frequently asked questions

How long should an ad jingle be?

Short enough to remember after one hearing. In Infinall AI a jingle comes out 15 seconds long, and a background music track is 30 seconds long.

Can I make a jingle for free?

In Infinall AI you can plan the music for free with Music brief, which writes a text plan. Making the jingle itself is a Pro feature.

Can the jingle have sung lyrics?

Not in Infinall AI yet. Song with vocals shows Soon and cannot be picked. Put the brand name in the voiceover and mix it over the jingle instead.

Can I use an AI jingle in paid ads?

In Infinall AI, generated audio can be used commercially by the account that made it. With other tools, check their terms before you run the ad.

How do I make a jingle sound adventurous?

Ask for bold brass or strings, driving drums and a rising melody that ends on a strong note. Put those words in the Idea box when you make the jingle.
