How to Make a Product Video: 7 Steps From Brief to MP4

To make a product video, pick one goal and one viewer, write a short script that shows the product solving a problem in the first few seconds, then film or generate the footage in the shape your platform uses. Add sound and on-screen text, export an MP4, and watch it on a phone before you post it.

A product video shows what a product is, who it is for and why someone should care, in less time than it takes to read the product page. You do not need a studio. Most good product videos come from a clear brief, a short script and footage that matches where the video will be watched. This guide walks through the steps that work with any tool, from a phone camera to an editing app. Then it shows how to make the same video in Infinall AI, where Motion is open on the Free plan and the full Video composer is part of Pro.

How to Make a Product Video: 7 Steps From Brief to MP4

  1. Pick one goal and one viewer

Decide what the video should do: introduce the product, show a feature, answer an objection or ask people to buy. Write down who will watch it and where. A video for a cold audience on a social feed needs a different opening than a demo for someone already on your pricing page.

  2. Choose the type of video

Common product video types are a short ad, a demo or walkthrough, an unboxing, a before and after, a presenter talking to camera and a customer testimonial. A demo video for software usually needs a screen recording. A physical product usually needs close shots of it being used.

  3. Write a short script

Open with the problem or the result, not your logo. Then show the product doing the job, name one or two benefits and end with one clear next step. Read the script out loud with a timer, because spoken lines almost always run longer than they look on paper.

  4. Set the shape before you film

Vertical 9:16 suits Reels, Shorts and TikTok, 16:9 suits YouTube and websites, and 1:1 or 4:5 suits feeds. Pick the shape first so you frame every shot for it. Cropping a widescreen video into a vertical one later often cuts off the product.

  5. Gather the footage

Film in good, even light and keep the product large in the frame. For a demo, record the screen at full size and remove anything private first. If you are not filming, use your product photos, a screen recording or generated footage that matches your brand.

  6. Add sound, text and captions

Add a voiceover or music, and put the key words on screen so the video still works with the sound off. Add captions for any spoken lines. Keep your logo and brand colours consistent from the first frame to the last.

  7. Export, check and post

Export an MP4 and watch the file itself on a phone, not just the preview in your editor. Check that the text is readable, the product is in frame and the ending says what to do next. Make a second version with a different opening if you plan to test which one works better.

How to make a product video in Infinall AI

Start by adding your brand from your website address, so your logo, colours and voice are saved once. Then choose one of two modes.

Motion is open on Free and Pro. Describe the scenes, the words on screen and the timing, pick your brand, a shape, a length and a quality level, then press Generate motion video. Ask for a voiceover or music in the prompt if you want sound. When the card says Video ready, press Export MP4 and download it.

Video is part of the Pro plan. On Home, choose the Video tab and type your brief: who it is for, what it shows and what it should say. Pick a format such as short-ad, showcase, unboxing or before-after, or leave it on auto. Use the plus button to attach product photos, set a platform preset and set the length. Press Create video, read the price card, then press Approve & render. Choose Storyboard instead of Generate if you want to read and edit the spoken script before you see the price.

How to make a demo video

A demo video walks a viewer through the product on screen. Record the screen at full size, plan the clicks before you start and narrate one task from start to finish rather than touring every menu. Cut pauses and loading screens in editing.

In Infinall AI, the demo and tutorial formats in Video work on a screen recording you supply: they need a source video, which you attach with the plus button and give a role. You must tick the rights and consent box before you can send. If you do not have a recording, the showcase and explanation formats make a video from your brief instead.

Common mistakes

  • Starting with a logo or a long intro instead of the problem or the result.
  • Filming in one shape and cropping to another, which cuts the product out of the frame.
  • Relying on the voiceover alone, so the video makes no sense with the sound off.
  • Showing every feature instead of the one that matters to this viewer.
  • Ending without a clear next step, such as a link, a price or an offer.
  • Judging the video in the editor preview instead of the exported file on a phone.

Free vs Pro for product videos

On the Free plan you get 1,000 credits every month with no card, which you can spend on Motion videos, images, voiceovers and copy. Motion suits animated product videos built from text, your logo and scenes. Pro costs $10 for the first month, then $30 a month or $299 a year (in India, Rs 999 for the first month, then Rs 2,899 a month or Rs 33,999 a year), and gives 3,000 credits a month. Pro adds the Video composer, with formats for ads, demos and presenters, attached product files, avatars and up to 20 versions at once. One credit is one US cent, and downloading a finished video never uses credits.

If you already have strong footage and an editor you like, a regular editing app may be all you need. Infinall AI helps most when you need the footage, script and brand look made for you.

Frequently asked questions

How long should a product video be?

As long as the job needs and no longer. A short ad or hook is a few seconds, and a demo can run longer. In Infinall AI, the platform presets suggest usual lengths, such as 15 seconds for TikTok and Meta Feed and 60 seconds for YouTube Standard.

Can I make a product video for free?

Yes. Infinall AI's Free plan includes Motion, which makes animated videos of 10 to 60 seconds from a prompt, with 1,000 credits every month and no card. The Video composer is part of Pro.

What file do I get?

An MP4. In Motion you press Export MP4 when the video is ready. In Video you download one MP4 per finished video from its card. Both are free.

Can I use my own product photos?

In Video, yes: attach up to 10 files and set each image's role, such as product_visual. Motion has no attach button, so your logo and colours come in through your saved brand.
