How to Make Motion Graphics: 7 Steps From Idea to MP4
To make motion graphics, write a short script, sketch each scene with the words that appear on screen, then animate text, shapes and your logo with simple moves such as slides, fades and scales. Pick the shape and length for where the video will play, add music or a voiceover, and export an MP4.

Motion graphics are animated designs: moving text, shapes, icons, charts and logos, usually set to music or a voiceover. They explain an idea, announce an offer or open a video without any filming. You can make them in a keyframe animation app, in a template editor or with an AI tool that builds the scenes from a written brief. The craft is the same in every tool: a clear message, a plan for each scene and simple, consistent movement. This guide walks through those steps first. Then it shows how to make motion graphics in Infinall AI, where Motion is open on the Free plan.
| Shape | What it is for |
|---|---|
| 16:9 | Wide video, for websites, presentations and YouTube |
| 1:1 | Square video, for feed posts |
| 9:16 | Tall full-screen video, for stories and reels |
| 4:5 | Slightly tall video, for Instagram and Meta feeds |
| Auto | Infinall AI reads the shape from your prompt, and uses 16:9 if the prompt gives no clue |
How to Make Motion Graphics: 7 Steps From Idea to MP4
Write the message in one line
Decide what the viewer should know or do when the video ends, such as a new offer, a product launch or one clear tip. Write it as one sentence. Every scene should support that sentence, and anything that does not can be cut.
Write a short script for the screen
List the words that will appear on screen, scene by scene. Keep each line short enough to read in the time it is shown, because motion graphics are often watched with the sound off. End with one clear next step, such as a website, a price or a button to tap.
Sketch a storyboard
Draw a box for each scene and note what moves, what stays and how the scene changes to the next one. A simple pattern works well: a hook, two or three message scenes, then a logo end card. The sketch can be rough, it only needs to show the order and the transitions.
Set the shape and length first
Choose the shape before you design: 16:9 for websites and YouTube, 1:1 for feed posts, 9:16 for stories and reels and 4:5 for Instagram and Meta feeds. Set the length too, since it decides how many scenes fit. Designing in one shape and cropping later often cuts off text.
Prepare your brand assets
Gather your logo, brand colours, fonts and tagline before you animate. Use the same two or three colours and one or two fonts in every scene. A logo with a clear background is easier to animate than one inside a box.
Animate with a few simple moves
Most good motion graphics use a small set of moves: slide in, fade, scale up, wipe and reveal. Ease each move so it starts and stops smoothly instead of at full speed. Keep the timing consistent and give each line enough time on screen to be read twice.
Add sound, export and check
Add music that fits the pace and a voiceover if the message needs one. Export an MP4 and watch the file itself on a phone. Check that every line is readable, nothing is cut off at the edges and the last frame says what to do next.
How to make motion graphics in Infinall AI
Motion in Infinall AI turns a few lines of text into a short animated video with moving text, logos and scenes. You describe the scenes, the words on screen and the timing, and Infinall AI designs each scene, checks the frames and gives you a video you can export as an MP4.
- Add your brand once, so the video can use your name, colours, logo, tagline and approved claims.
- On Home, choose the Motion tab, or open a Studio project and choose Motion in What to make.
- Pick your brand with Select brand, then a shape (Auto, 16:9, 1:1, 9:16 or 4:5) and a length from 10 to 60 seconds, or leave both on Auto and write them in the prompt.
- Pick a quality level: Standard for quick drafts, Pro (the default) for busier videos or Max for the most careful result.
- Type your brief, for example: 15 s, 9:16, 4 text scenes plus logo end card, with music. On Home you can also start from one of the Start with cards: Product reveal, Promo, Logo sting or Ad bumper.
- Click Generate motion video and watch the build on the canvas and in the chat.
- When the card says Video ready, click Export MP4 and download it, save it to your Library or add it to the calendar.
Tips for better motion graphics
- Name every scene in your brief or storyboard, with its exact on-screen words. Vague briefs give vague videos in any tool.
- Put the hook in the first scene. Do not open on a logo.
- Use one idea per scene, and keep text large enough to read on a phone.
- In Infinall AI, a plain prompt makes a silent video. Ask for a voiceover or music in the prompt if you want sound. The music comes from a built-in library and is cut to the length of the video.
- To change a video in Infinall AI, send a new prompt that describes the version you want. The new video lands next to the first one, so you can compare them.
Common mistakes
- Too much text on one screen, shown for too short a time.
- Too many kinds of movement, so nothing feels consistent.
- Moves that start and stop at full speed instead of easing in and out.
- Designing in one shape and cropping to another, which cuts off words at the edges.
- Relying on the voiceover alone, so the video makes no sense with the sound off.
- Ending without a clear next step.
If you want full control over every keyframe, a dedicated animation app is the better choice and is worth learning. Infinall AI suits marketers who need short branded motion videos from a written brief, without building each move by hand.
Making motion graphics for free
Motion is open on Infinall AI's Free plan, which gives 1,000 credits every month with no card. All three quality levels, Standard, Pro and Max, can be picked on Free and on Pro. The quality level called Pro is not the Pro plan. Motion is charged on what the video uses, so longer videos cost more, and the quality menu shows an estimate before you send. When a video starts, the app holds 10 credits from your balance, then charges what the video used and gives the rest back. Exporting the MP4 and downloading it are free. One credit is one US cent.
The Pro plan costs $10 for the first month, then $30 a month or $299 a year (in India, Rs 999 for the first month, then Rs 2,899 a month or Rs 33,999 a year), and gives 3,000 credits a month.
Frequently asked questions
Can I make motion graphics for free?
Yes. Infinall AI's Free plan includes Motion with 1,000 credits every month and no card. Motion is charged on what each video uses, and exporting and downloading the MP4 are free.
Can I make motion graphics with AI?
Yes. In Infinall AI's Motion, you describe the scenes, the on-screen words and the timing in a prompt, and it builds an animated video you can export as an MP4. You can still use the same planning steps from this guide to write a better prompt.
How long can a motion video be in Infinall AI?
From 10 to 60 seconds when you pick the length yourself. You can also leave Length on Auto and write a length such as 15 s in the prompt.
Can I upload my own logo or files into a motion video?
The Motion box has no attach button. Your logo, colours, name, tagline and approved claims come in through your saved brand, and everything else comes from your prompt.
Does a motion video have sound?
Only if you ask. A plain prompt makes a silent video. Ask for a voiceover or music in the prompt and Motion adds it.
