Export your video

Export from the AI Editor with a preset, a smaller file or custom settings. It runs on your device, uses no credits and has no plan limit.

Free and ProFree, no creditsAI Editor > Export (top right of the editor)

#What it is

Export turns your AI Editor project into a video file. You can pick a ready-made preset, make the file smaller for sharing, or set every detail yourself. A separate tool compresses any video file, even one that is not in a project.

#Who can use it

Everyone. The app does not check your plan for export, so Free and Pro have the same presets, sizes and options. Export runs inside your browser, so the speed depends on your computer. The Export button is grey until the timeline has something on it.

#Cost

Free, no credits. Nothing in export asks for a price or holds credits.

#Where to find it

Open a project in the AI Editor. In the top bar, on the right, choose Export. The small arrow next to it is named Export options and opens quick choices. You can also press Cmd or Ctrl and E.

The numbers match the screenshot of the Export Video window on its Presets tab.

#Options explained

Presets groups. Each group holds presets for one place. YouTube: 4K, 4K 60fps, 1080p HD and Shorts. TikTok, Instagram (Reels, Feed Video, Story), Twitter (Twitter/X), Facebook (Feed) and LinkedIn have one to three each. Broadcast, Web and Archive hold high quality and ProRes presets. The Audio presets are not shown in this window.

Max time on a card. Some cards show a line like "Max 60s". It is a reminder of the platform limit. The editor does not stop you if your video is longer.

PresetMax time on its card
YouTube Shorts60 seconds
TikTok180 seconds
Instagram Reels90 seconds
Instagram Feed Video60 seconds
Instagram Story15 seconds
Twitter/X140 seconds
LinkedIn600 seconds

Format. MP4, WebM or MOV. Choosing WebM limits the codec to VP9 or AV1.

Codec. H.264, H.265 (HEVC), ProRes, VP9 or AV1. H.264 plays almost everywhere.

Resolution. 4K (3840x2160), 2K (2560x1440), 1080p (1920x1080), 720p (1280x720), 480p (854x480), Vertical 1080p and Square 1080. If your source has another size, Original with that size is added.

Frame rate. 23.976, 24, 25, 29.97, 30, 50, 59.94 or 60 fps.

Bitrate (kbps). The video data rate. A higher number gives a better picture and a bigger file. It runs from 1,000 to 150,000.

Quality. A slider from Smaller to Better, from 50 to 100 percent.

Audio. In the browser, Audio format is shown for information: it reads "No audio" if the project has none, or the format your browser will use. Sample rate is 44.1, 48 or 96 kHz. Audio bitrate is 128, 192, 256 or 320 kbps.

Enhance quality. A switch that sharpens exports above the project size. Quality Mode is Fast, Balanced or Quality. Sharpening goes from None to Max. The window warns: "Best used when exporting above the project resolution. It adds processing time." It only applies when the export is bigger than your project.

Smaller File quality. Light is "Trim a little", Balanced is "Best of both" and Strong is "Smallest file". In Compress Video the hints are "Best quality", the middle size and "Smallest".

Save video. Download to this device saves as a normal download. Choose a file location opens your save dialog and streams a large export straight to disk. The note under it says: "Export uses your original media at the selected quality."

#Limits

  • Browser export is capped for safety. Over 120 seconds, or with H.265, VP9 or AV1, video is reduced to 1,920x1,080. Other exports are capped at 3,840x2,160.
  • Over 120 seconds, frame rates above 30 fps are lowered to 30.
  • The window warns you first: "Browser safety limits will export this video at" the new size and frame rate.
  • ProRes, transparency and high bit depth are not available in the browser.
  • Bitrate runs from 1,000 to 150,000 kbps. Quality runs from 50 to 100.
  • Size targets: Email 25 MB, WhatsApp 16 MB, Discord 10 MB. If you pick Custom and leave the box empty, the app uses 16 MB.
  • Only one export can run at a time.

#Questions

#Does export cost credits?

No. Export runs on your device and does not use credits.

#Is 4K or a longer export only on Pro?

No. The app does not check your plan for export. The limits come from your browser, not your plan.

#Why was my video exported smaller than I picked?

Browsers have safety limits. Long videos, and H.265, VP9 and AV1, are reduced. The window tells you before you export.

#Can I keep editing while it exports?

The player shows an overlay that says "You can keep editing once the export finishes." Wait until the top bar shows Exported.

#How do I get a file for WhatsApp or email?

Use Smaller File and pick WhatsApp (16 MB) or Email (25 MB). See the target sizes above.

#Where is the file saved?

It is saved by your browser as a download, or where you pick if you choose Choose a file location.

#Can I export a still image or only audio?

Audio only is in Export options as Audio Only (WAV). A single still image export is not in the app.
