The storyboard

Read the scenes and the spoken script before the price. You can edit each scene's spoken line, save it and approve the script.

ProUses creditsHome > Video > Storyboard switch, then the Storyboard panel in Studio

#What it is

The storyboard shows your video as a list of scenes with the line spoken in each one. You can change those spoken lines, save them, and approve the script before you see the price.

#Who can use it

Video is part of the Pro plan. Free accounts see an upgrade prompt. The backend checks your plan when you approve a script and when you send a change to a plan.

#Cost

Uses credits. You see the exact price before you confirm. Opening the storyboard, editing the script and approving it do not start a render. The panel says "Nothing renders until you press Approve & render." The footer also shows Generation cost once the price is ready.

#Where to find it

Turn on Storyboard with the Generation mode switch in the video composer, then press Create video. The Storyboard panel opens on the right. You can open it again from the video panel with Open storyboard.

#How to read and approve the script

  1. Turn on Storyboard in the composer and press Create video.
  2. Wait for the panel. It says "Loading the plan" while it opens.
  3. Read each scene. A scene with no spoken line says "No spoken line in this scene."
  4. If the lines are right, press Approve script and see the price.
  5. Read the price in the video panel, then press Approve & render.

#How to edit the spoken lines

  1. In the Storyboard panel, press Edit.
  2. Change the text in any Scene (number) script box.
  3. Press Save changes. To drop your edits, press Cancel edits.
  4. Approve the script again. An edit makes the earlier approval invalid, so unreviewed words never reach the video.

You can only edit before the video is approved. After that, the Edit button is gone and the plan is locked. To change a finished video, send a change in the chat. See Edit a finished video.

#Options explained

Generate vs Storyboard. With Generate, the plan is made behind the scenes and you go straight to the price. If the video has spoken lines, they show in a folded list above the price called "Spoken lines", and Approve & render approves them for you. With Storyboard, you approve the script first. You can change this switch on any format.

What you can edit here. Only the spoken line of each scene. The storyboard shows the scene number, its length and its line. It does not show a picture for each scene, and it has no controls to reorder scenes, change their length or change the look of a scene.

Videos with no spoken line. If nobody speaks, the panel shows a Message box with the hook, the message and the call to action, and says "No one speaks on camera in this video. To have a presenter say these lines, pick an avatar and a voice."

Versions. If you made several versions, each has its own plan. Pick one with the Video variants buttons.

#Limits

  • A scene's spoken line can be up to 3,000 characters.
  • A price holds for 10 minutes.
  • A video project holds up to 50 versions, counting every change you send after a video is approved.

#Questions

#Do I have to use the storyboard?

No. Generate is the default and goes straight to the price. Use Storyboard when you want to read or change the words first.

#Can I change the pictures in a scene?

Not in the storyboard. It shows and edits the spoken lines. To change how a scene looks, send a change in the chat after the video is made. See Edit a finished video.

#Does approving the script charge me?

No. It only approves the words. Credits are charged for the render after you press Approve & render.

#Why does it ask me to approve the script again?

Because you changed it. An approval is tied to the exact words, so any edit needs a new approval.

#Where do I write a script from scratch?

You can write one with the audio tools. See Write the script.
