Files and images in chat

Attach files and photos to a message, make images from chat, edit a picture by describing the change, and open results in Image Studio.

#What it is

You can give chat files to read, such as PDFs, Word files, text files, photos and videos. You can also ask chat to make an image, and then change that image by describing what you want different.

#Who can use it

Everyone. Free and Pro accounts attach files and make images the same way. Chat makes images only. It does not make video or audio files.

#Cost

Mixed. Attaching and reading files is part of the reply. Reading the speech in a video, making an image and editing an image use credits. The app does not show an image price before you send, but a single message never spends more than 100 credits on images. See price before you confirm.

#Where to find it

Open Infinall Chat. Click the plus button (Add files) for Add files or photos and Create image. You can also drag files onto the message box or paste them.

#How to attach files

Click Add files, then Add files or photos. Or drag the files onto the message box. Or paste a file.
A chip shows for each file. Click Remove on a chip to take it out.
Type a message, or leave it empty. Send with Send message.

#How to make an image

Click Add files, then Create image.
Choose a shape in Size and an engine in Image models.
Describe the picture in the box: subject, look, light, style and any text.
Press Send message. The image shows in the reply with Download, Open and Edit.

#How to edit an image from chat

Click Edit under the image. The box fills with a short line naming the image, and an Editing chip shows.
Add what to change after the colon, for example "make the background dark blue".
Press Send message. A new image is made. The old one stays in the chat.
Click Stop editing this image if you change your mind.

You can also click Edit on a photo you uploaded in the same chat. Photos you upload stay in the chat, so you can use them as the picture to change.

#How to open images in Image Studio

When Infinall AI makes images for a calendar post or because you asked for Image Studio, they appear as a grid. Click a tile or "(number) images in Image Studio" to open the project. For full editing tools, see create an image and edit by describing.

#Options explained

What you can attach.

HEIC, AVIF, SVG, BMP and TIFF images are not accepted. Audio files cannot be read right now.

How files are read. Every page of a PDF is read, and each page is marked with its number. A scanned PDF that is only pictures has no text to read. Words spoken in a video are turned into text, and that uses credits based on the length of the audio.

Long pasted text. Text of 2,000 characters or 25 lines or more becomes a text file named pasted-text.txt.

Image shapes. Square 1:1, Portrait 4:5, Story 9:16 and Wide 16:9. The shape you pick is remembered in the chat while it is open.

#Limits

Up to 5 files per message.
Images, PDFs, Word files and text files: up to 20 MB each.
Videos: up to 200 MB each and 30 minutes long.
Up to 4 reference images in one image request, such as brand logos.
One message can spend at most 100 credits on images.
Chat offers 5 image engines.

#When something goes wrong

Message in the app	What it means	What to do
A maximum of 5 attachments is allowed per request.	You attached more than the limit.	Send fewer files per message.
(file name) is not a supported file type	The browser sees a file type chat cannot read.	Use a PDF, Word file, image, video or text file.
(file name) is larger than 20 MB	The file is too big. Videos can be up to 200 MB.	Use a smaller file.
(file name) exceeds the 20 MB file limit. (200 MB for videos)	The server refused the size.	Use a smaller file.
Pasted text is larger than 20 MB.	You pasted a very large text.	Paste less, or attach a file.
(file name) is empty.	The file has no content.	Attach a file with content.
Could not process (file name): (reason)	The file could not be read.	Try another copy or format.
This video could not be read ((reason)).	The video could not be analysed, for example it is longer than the limit.	Use a shorter video.
Audio processing is not currently available because no transcription model is enabled for this API key.	You attached an audio file.	Use text, or a video that has speech.
Not enough credits to transcribe (file name) (it needs up to (number) credits). Top up to keep going.	Credits cannot cover reading the speech in a video.	Add credits.
Not enough credits to make this image (it needs up to (number) credits). Top up to keep going.	Credits cannot cover the image.	Add credits.
This request reached its 100-credit limit for images, so this image was not made. Ask again in a new message to keep going.	One message hit the image credit cap.	Send a new message.
Only images can be created in chat.	Video or audio was requested.	Use the image option.
Describe what to create.	Create image was sent with no text.	Type a description.
That image id is not valid. / That image is not part of this chat.	An edit points to an image not in this chat.	Click Edit on an image from this chat.

#Questions

#Can chat make a video or audio?

No. Chat makes images only. For video and audio use the Video, Motion and Audio tools.

#Do my uploaded photos stay in the chat?

Yes. They stay in the chat after a reload and you can edit them or use them as input.

#Can I send a file with no message?

Yes. You need either a message or at least one attachment.

#Why was my scanned PDF empty?

A PDF that is only pictures has no text to read. Use a PDF with real text, or attach the pictures as images.

#How is chat editing different from Image Studio?

Chat edits one image at a time from your description. Image Studio has the canvas, versions, brushes and more. See edit by describing.
