Re-voice and audio in a video

What you can do about the voice and sound of a video today: lip sync at creation, and the Audio tools to change a voice, dub or clean a recording.

ProUses creditsVideo composer > Lip sync, and Home > Audio > Edit audio

#What it is

There is no Re-voice button on a finished video card. This page says what you can do today to change the voice or sound of a video, and which Audio tools work on a recording you bring.

#Who can use it

Pro only. Video is part of the Pro plan, and accounts on a trial get the Pro audio features. The backend checks your plan for the voice changer, dubbing and noise removal, and for making videos. On Free, these modes show a Pro badge.

#Cost

Uses credits. The voice changer, dubbing and noise removal are charged by the length of your file, and a hold is taken first. Lip sync is part of the video price. See Price before you confirm.

#Where to find it

For lip sync, use the video composer. For the other tools, open the Audio tab on Home or Audio mode in a Studio project, press the mode chip and look under Edit audio.

#How to turn on your voice for a new video

  2. Pick a model that shows the Lip sync switch.
  3. Turn Lip sync on, then press Create video.

To change the voice of a video you already made, make a new one with the setting you want. See Edit a finished video for what a chat change can and cannot do.

#How to dub a video into another language

  1. Open Audio mode and press the mode chip.
  2. Under Edit audio, choose Dub a video.
  3. Upload your video or audio file.
  4. Choose the language in Dub into.
  5. Press Dub it. The result appears as a new card.

#How to change the voice in a recording

  1. Open Audio mode and choose Voice changer under Edit audio.
  2. Upload an audio recording.
  3. Pick the voice you want.
  4. Press Change voice. The result appears as a new take.

#How to remove background noise

  1. Open Audio mode and choose Remove noise under Edit audio.
  2. Upload an audio recording.

  2. Pick an audio file.
  3. In Role for (file name), choose narration for a spoken recording, or music_bed for background music.
  4. Tick the rights and consent box and press Create video.

Your recording is mixed with the footage. A narration recording does not match the lips of a person on screen, so use Lip sync for that.

#Options explained

What works on a video. Only Dub a video takes a video file. Voice changer and Remove noise take audio files. To use them on the sound of a video, you need the audio as its own file.

What the dub makes. If you upload a video, the result is a dubbed video. If you upload audio, the result is dubbed audio.

Re-voice on an audio take. A finished audio take has a Re-voice panel with Voice, Style, Speed and Pitch. It makes a new take from the same words and keeps the original. It does not show for video.

Lip sync on or off. On: your avatar speaks in your voice and the lips match, and the model's own music is replaced by our music track. Off: the model keeps its own voice, music and sound.

Captions and subtitles. For text of what is said, see Captions and transcription.

#Limits

  • A file for the voice changer, dubbing or noise removal can be up to 50 MB.
  • Dubbing is limited to 10 minutes per file.
  • Noise removal needs at least 5 seconds of audio.

#Questions

#Can I change the voice of a video I already made?

Not with a button or a chat message today. Make a new video with the avatar and the Lip sync setting you want. For audio-only changes, use the tools above on a recording.

#Can I add my own music or narration to a video?

Yes, when you create it. Attach an audio file with the plus button and set its role to narration or music_bed. See the section on your own audio above. You cannot add it to a video that is already finished.

#Can I dub my finished video?

Yes. Save the video, then upload it to Dub a video in Audio mode. It makes a new file in the language you pick.

#Does the voice changer work on a video file?

It takes audio files. Use Dub a video for a video, or take the audio out first.

#Is there an audio mixer for video?

The Mix with music panel is on audio cards, not on video cards.
