Edit a finished video

Click a video in the chat, send a change as your next message, and get a new price. Press x on the Editing chip to start a new video instead.

#What it is

After a video is made, you change it by sending a message in the video chat. The app works out whether you want an edit, a new take of one scene, a new length, an answer to a question, or a brand new video.

#Who can use it

Pro only. Video is part of the Pro plan. The backend checks your plan when your message is read and again when a change is applied.

#Cost

Uses credits. You see the exact price before you confirm. Reading your message uses a small hold and charges only the AI work that ran. A change never renders by itself: it ends at a new price, and credits for the render are only used after you press Approve & render. A message that fails is not charged.

#Where to find it

Open a Studio project in Video mode. The chat thread sits above the composer. Each video you made shows as a message with its picture and status.

#How to change a video

  1. Click the video in the chat. The Editing chip shows its name.
  2. Type your change in the composer. Name a scene if you mean one, for example "make scene 2 brighter".
  3. Press Create video or Enter.
  4. Read the reply in the chat. It says what changed and gives the new price.
  5. Press Approve & render in the video panel to render the change.

#How to start a new video instead

  1. Press the x on the Editing chip. The chat says "Your next message starts a new video. Click a video above to edit it instead."
  2. Type your new brief and press Create video.

A message that attaches files always starts a new video.

#Options explained

What the app does with your message. It reads your words and picks one of these:

  • Edit. Changes the plan or one scene. "Make scene 2 darker."
  • Regenerate. Makes a fresh take. Words like "try again", "redo" or "another take".
  • Retime. Changes the length. "Make it 12 seconds." If you do not say a length, the chat asks "How long should the video be? Say it in seconds, for example "make it 12 seconds"."
  • Ask. A question gets an answer and changes nothing, even if it contains an edit word.
  • New video. Words like "create" or "new video" start a new one.

You can point at one scene with "scene 3", "shot 3", "the second scene", "first scene" or "last scene".

Where the change lands. If the video was not approved yet, the change updates the same card and the price refreshes. If it was approved or rendered, the original is kept and a new version card appears next to it, named Version 2, Version 3 and so on. Your next message then edits the newest version.

Nothing renders by itself. A change stops at the price, and the chat says "Nothing renders until you press Approve & render." If the spoken lines changed, you approve the script to see the new price. See The storyboard.

What a change cannot do. It changes the plan, so it works on scenes, wording, look and length. It cannot swap the avatar or the voice on a finished video. To use a different avatar or voice, make a new video. See Re-voice and audio in a video.

One at a time. While a step is running on a video, a new change waits.

#Limits

  • A change message can be up to 2,000 characters.
  • A video project holds up to 50 versions in total.
  • A price holds for 10 minutes.

#Questions

#Does editing a video charge me?

Reading your message and making the new plan use a small amount of credits for the AI work that ran. The render is charged only after you press Approve & render, and the price shows first.

#Is my original video lost when I edit it?

No. Once a video is approved, a change makes a new version next to it and the original stays.

#How do I change just one scene?

Name it: "scene 2", "the last scene". The change then applies to that scene and the others stay as they are.

#Can I change the avatar or voice of a finished video?

Not with a chat message. Make a new video with the avatar and lip sync setting you want.

#Why did my message start a new video?

Words like "create" or "new video" read as a new brief. A message with files attached always does. You can also press the x on the Editing chip.
